GREEN EARTH

 අසිරිමත් කොඩිගහකන්ද... පියවර 02 කොඩිගහකන්දේ පාරිසරික වටිනාකම් අපි පසුගිය කොටසේ දී ඉතාමත් සංක්ෂිප්තව කථා කළේ කොඩිගහකන්දේ ඉතිහාසගත තොරතුරු පිළිබදවයි. දැන් අපි පියවර 02 තුළින් මෙම අගනා පරිසර පද්ධතියේ පාරිසරික වටිනාකම් පිළිබදව සළකා බළමු . පසුගිය කොටසේ දී අපි කොඩිගහකන්දේ ජලවහන රටාව පිළිබදව යම් සටහනක් තැබූවා. එහි දී අප සදහන් කළා මෙම කදුවැටියෙන් ඇරඹි ප්‍රධාන දොළපාරවල් 5 ක් දිශාවන් 5 කට ගලා යන බව.  පහළ ප්‍රදේශවලට ජලය සපයන ජල පෝෂකය හා ජල ගබඩාව කොඩිගහකන්දයි. මීට දශක 5 කට පමණ පෙර මෙම සියළුම දොළ පාරවල් වසරේ දවස් 365 හොදින් ගලා ගිය සශ්‍රීක දොළ පාරවල් වූවත් අද වන විට තත්වය අතිශයින්ම ශෝචනීයයි.  සොබා සුන්දරත්වය කොඩිගහකන්ද අතිශයින්ම සුන්දර කදුවැටියක්. මෙහි කදුමුදුනට පිවිසෙන නිරීක්ෂකයෙකුට දැක ගත හැක්කේ අයස්කාන්ත දසුනකි.  බටහිරින් මීගමුව ප්‍රදේශයේ සිට බේරුවල දක්වා මුහුදු තීරයත් නැගෙනහිරින් මධ්‍යම කදුකරය දක්වා දිවෙන කදු පංතියක් දැකිය හැකිය. කොළඹ නගරයේ උස් ගොඩනැගිලි, ඔරුවල වානේ සංස්ථාව වැනි බොහෝ ස්ථාන මෙම කදුමුදුනට දිස්වේ. දැන් වනාන්තරයේ ශාක ඉහළට වැඩී ඇති හෙයින් මිහිතල මිතුරෝ මගින් නිරී...

 අසිරිමත් කොඩිගහකන්ද ...1 පියවර කොඩිගහකන්ද කියන්නෙ සොබාදහමේ විස්මිත නිමැවුමක් මේ ඒ් ගැනයි... ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රථම සහ තවමත් එකම ප්‍රජා සංරක්ෂිත අභයභූමිය කොඩිගහකන්ද ප්‍රජා සංරක්ෂිත අභයභූමියයි. කොළඹ - කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික් බෙදුම් රේඛාව ආසන්නයේ පිහිටි කොඩිගහකන්ද පරිපාලනමය වශයෙන් අයත්වන්නේ කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ, හොරණ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශයේ ඔළබොඩුව උතුර ග්‍රාම නිලධාරී වසමටයි.  ඉංග්‍රීසි පාලන සමයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මැණුම් කටයුතු හා සිතියම් සකස් කිරීමේ දී කොඩිගහකන්ද කදු මුදුන ත්‍රිකෝණමිතික ස්ථානයක් ලෙස භාවිතාකර තිබෙනවා.  මෙම ඡායාරූපයෙන් දිස්වන්නේ එම ත්‍රිකෝණමිතික ස්ථානයයි මෙහි මධ්‍යයේ වූ කුහරයේ ඈතට දිස්වනසේ කොඩියක් සිටුවා තිබුන හෙයින් කොඩියක් සහිත කන්ද කොඩිගහකන්ද ලෙස භාවිතයට පැමිණ ඇත. ප්‍රදීපාගාර නොතිබුන යුගයේ මෙම කොඩිය ඉන්යන් සාගරයේ යාත්‍රාකරණ නැව්වලට කොළඹ වරාය සොයා ගැනීමට මග පෙන්වූ බව පැරැන්නන් විසින් පවසනු ලබයි. ඉතිහාසගත පසුබිම කොඩිගහකන්ද අයත් අක්කර 1000 ක භූමිය 19 වන සියවසේ මැදභාගයේ දී චාල්ස් හෙන්රි ද සොයිසා මහතා විසින් පළමුව කෝපිවගාව ද එය අසාර්ථක වීමෙන් පසු පොල්වගාවද අරඹා ඇත. අක්කර...
